Let the Restaurant Open!
Here's the update from my last post: In Derrick's words, the meeting with the City Council went "fine." They are going to let us keep our temporary certificate of occupancy, and as soon as slats are installed in the chain link fence on the property (which was already going to be done), we get our permanent certificate. Derrick sounded pretty emotionally drained, but we are pleased that we will be able to continue moving forward. It appeared that everyone was on our side except the one council member who has made an issue out of all of this, and that is encouraging. So we will go ahead and continue training our employees, have our VIP night on Saturday, and open for business on Monday! HOORAY!!!!!

Oh, I am so glad it worked out okay. Sorry you have to deal with that right before you are ready to open. I wish I could be there for your opening. Let us know how it goes. How are you feeling?

If we lived there, you know Ry and I would egg the quiznos and leave our bum prints on the front door! What a jerk. I'm glad everything turned out ok. Man, that is nuts. I love how that guy waited until you were close to opening to make point out of NOTHING! Maybe he is just nervous your restaurant will smash his to bits. Okay, that wasn't nice but it may be true :) Congrats!

Oh, I would have been so stressed out! I am glad everything worked out. Yeah, the Quizno's man should be afraid. Very afraid. What would I rather have for lunch? Over-priced toasted sub or great salad...hmm. I'll take the salad. :)
