An Update

I went up to Utah a couple of weeks ago to introduce some of our family members to the new baby. They loved her, of course! We had a great time seeing family and friends. Thanks again to my beloved bloggers who came to my mom's house. It was so much fun to hang out with you girls and catch up! Do you think we'll still be getting together in 20 years?

Cecily and Ainsley at home. Cecily has started asking to hold Ainsley. A big improvement! The first few weeks after the baby was born, Cecily started in with some terrible tantrums. She wasn't mean to the baby or anything. She pretty much ignored her. But she was really awful to Derrick. Our trip to Utah was good for her, I think. When we got back, she was back to her usual sweet self again! Phew!

Cecily and Ashley holding hands at the mall. Ashley is my sister Lisa's little girl. She is five weeks older than Cecily. Lisa is having another little girl in August. It's fun to have kids so close in age.

Ashley holding Ainsley at Grandma Thomas' house.

This is Jackson holding Ainsley. He is my sister Jana's little boy. She and her husband are due to have another boy in July. Don't they make such cute boys?

This picture is missing one generation. Daddy. This is Derrick's mom, Shonnie, and her father Tony with Ainsley. Cecily was totally passed out when we went to visit Tony. That girl can sleep! There is no waking her when she is out!

Back at home. Two cute sisters hanging out!

Creative Fun

I just read on my friend Tiffany's blog that she and her mom and sisters had an "80's" night where they dressed up in '80's garb and watched an 80's movie (Labyrinth anyone?)! Anyway, I got to thinking how silly and fun that must have been, and realized that I am not the type of creative person who thinks of spicing up simple things like that. Does this make sense? So I am curious what you all do in your homes and with your families to make things more fun and to get a change of pace. I remember Melinda last summer had a dog show with her entire family. My sister's neighbor does a family triathalon every year. I have several friends who hole away at a vacation condo with their sisters to do scrapbooking for the weekend. So what are your ideas? What do you do, or what ideas do you have, to spice up your ordinary life?

Just for Laughs...

I received this e-mail today from my brother-in-law:

A husband and wife are sitting quietly in bed reading when the wife looks over at him and asks the question..........
"What would you do if I died? Would you get married again?
HUSBAND: "Definitely not!"
WIFE: "Why not? Don't you like being married?"
HUSBAND: "Of course I do."
WIFE: "Then why wouldn't you remarry?"
HUSBAND: "Okay, okay, I'd get married again."
WIFE: "You would?" (with a hurt look)
HUSBAND: (makes audible groan)
WIFE: "Would you live in our house?"
HUSBAND: "Sure, it's a great house."
WIFE: "Would you sleep wi th her in our bed?"
HUSBAND: "Where else would we sleep?"
WIFE: "Would you let her drive my car?"
HUSBAND: "Probably, it is almost new."
WIFE: "Would you replace my pictures with hers?"
HUSBAND: "That would seem like the proper thing to do"
WIFE: "Would you give her my jewelry?"
HUSBAND: "No, I'm sure she'd want her own."
WIFE: "Would you take her golfing with you?
HUSBAND: "Yes, those are always good times."
WIFE: "Would you let her use my clubs?
HUSBAND: "No, she's left-handed."
WIFE: -- silence --
HUSBAND: "shoot."

Easter 2008

Here are some pictures from our Easter Sunday. We had brunch and an Easter egg hunt at our friends Nate and Sharon's home. It was a beautiful day.
